Luminaria, Farolita Handcrafted Roadrunner Card
Josie Mohr a New Mexican artist handcrafts these cards.
The New Mexican tradition began when the Spanish villages along the Rio Grande displayed the unique lanterns, called luminarias or farolitos to welcome the Christ child into the world at Christmas. A traditional luminaria is a brown paper bag, which has been folded at the top, filled will a couple of cups of sand and a votive candle.
These luminaria cards are inspired by this tradition. Its a gift and a card folded to form a luminaria or farolito by placing tea light inside.
